France, Bordeaux

What more could you want than to sit in a sidewalk café, drinking a class of red wine and eating some fresh camembert with homemade bread. France is a world of class and sophistication.

Although there is a strong prevalence of Levis and Big Mac, anything from a year in Province to a weekend in Paris will justify why people go misty-eyed at the thought of walking in Paris’s moonlights streets or picnicking Monet style amongst the water lilies.

OIIE Location

You will be raising your glass a lot in Bordeaux as it is one of France's seven key wine regions, known for its irresistible reds, and home to OIIE ‘s Paid Internship Program. Then landscape of the cliffs along the river is absolutely breath-taking and there are plenty of things to do in Bordeaux. You can picture yourself as a Lord or lady in the chateaux, enjoying the world-famous wines and tasting the tantalizing local food.

The city has museums, a lively nightlife and beaches close by. Wide avenues, neoclassical architecture and immaculate parks all give the city a certain historical feel to it. It is an extremely fun town with a lively university community of around 60,000 students and an ethnically diverse population.

For those who do need to be careful about what you spend you can get by on around 40 euros per day, though it means a whole lot of bread and cheese in the park. For a more satisfying meal and a comfy bed or two, a minimum of 80.00 is ion the cards. Student discounts are common. Whatever your budget, for Paris double your figures and go from there.
