Vietnam’s beauty is overwhelming; the Red River Delta, the Mekong Delta and almost the entire coast line is an amalgamation of striking green rice paddies dotted with traditional Vietnamese women bent over tending the harvest.

The beaches along the coast are glorious; while not far inland there is a dramatic scenery change to sky-rising mountains, some of which are covered with a thick carpet of dark green trees. Vietnam is a country of traditional charm and rare beauty rapidly opening it s eyes to the outside world.

OIIE Location

Ho Chi Minh City is where OIIE centers the majority of its internships and the training. It is the main hubbub of Vietnam and is the largest city in the country. The city has lots of character and is busy into the small hours of the morning. Ho Chi Minh is the economic capital and the cultural trendsetter of Vietnam. Beyond all this Ho Chi Minh has hidden traditions which can be found in the corners of the city; surrounding the city with a ring of traditions of an ancient culture.

Much of the city's life takes place on its streets where you can find a mix of street markets, shops, pavement cafes, stands-on-wheels and vendors selling wares spread out on sidewalks.

Staying in budget accommodation and eating in small cafes you should be able to get by on around 20.00 to 25.00 per day, plus long-distance transport costs. Those wanting to stay in mid-range hotels, eat out at moderate restaurants, ride in taxis and enjoy the nightlife should budget on around 65.00 a day.
